Scholars

The whole scholar thing is just awesome......ever since we started to implement this work it is rampant! My kids, in particular are all over it. They call themselves scholars and talk about being scholarly all the time! (I mean all day long). Okay, I do too. I admit it. I use them as examples when they are acting/not acting scholarly. It is so funny because they are starting to take it to a whole new level. For example, today I was talking to one of my kids and he said that his dad would not help him to read the book in the homework. I said, "Oh yes he would just ask him." He said, "oh no, he is not a scholar." I was dying inside and really (honestly) did not know how to respond. It was on our way out the door so I kind of skirted my way around it. Now that I think about it more, it is sad. This child does not look up to his father and does not have a scholarly model. This is a sad reality for many of our students, but I know we can enforce and make them believe they are scholars in school.
