This week has been so crazy! It is tough coming back from a vacation of three weeks when you do not work! Normally I teach intersession or sub, but this time I actually went away and RELAXED! I am exhausted and it is only Wednesday.....UGH
I was so excited to see my kiddies, but very disappointed to find out one of my students moved. This student was really making GREAT strides and came a long way since the beginning of the year. I worked closely with his mom to help him improve his writing during a few conferences, and he was beginning to really blossom around February. I really hope he gets the attention he needs wherever he is!
The day he left, I received a new student from somewhere in our district. He made a grand entrance on Tuesday, kicking and screaming his head off saying "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and trying to bolt out the door. His parents threw him at my partner, Carlos and took off. It was quite hilarious and he ended up settling down. At the end of the day he came up to me and said, "I like this school but I did not like my old school." That was about all he said to me all day and he showed up today much happier! He is extremely low, but I feel that with a little work he has great potential..I am up for the challenge.....
